Help Rescue Hill Country, TX!

More than 130 lives have been taken since the devastating flooding began in Central Texas on July 4th. More than 160 are still missing, and the rain continues, forcing search and recovery operations to stop and restart. A flood watch remains in effect for the Texas Hill Country as of Monday, July 14th.

Despite these conditions and the emotional toll on this community, the Hill Country Humane Society (HCHS) continues to work hard, focusing on supporting pets, their families, and other local shelters impacted by the continued flooding across Central Texas.

Hill Country Humane Society is a no-kill shelter located in Buchanan Dam, Texas, serving both Burnet and Llano Counties, and five surrounding cities. Following the flooding across Central Texas, their team has focused on supporting lost pets (both dogs and cats), the families searching for them, as well as distributing free pet food and other supplies to those impacted.

Thanks to support from other partners, HCHS has been able to transport many of the animals previously in their care before the storm, to make room for pets displaced by the flood. This has allowed them to extend stray holds and offer families more time to locate missing pets. Additionally, they've been able to assist the San Saba and Brady shelters during their evacuations, providing critical housing and care when they needed it most. HCHS said in response, "This is what a rescue community looks like. This is what love in action looks like. We are not alone - and neither are the animals."

At the heart of their work is a commitment to community, compassion, and lifesaving collaboration. All of which is incredibly evident in their unwavering support of Central Texas.

We are eager to jump in and support Hill Country Humane Society. To do so, Hill Country Strong Pup is now available in Adult Short Sleeve. 100% OF NET PROFITS FROM THIS SHIRT WILL BE DONATED DIRECTLY TO HCHS to help provide care, supplies, transportation, and more for dogs and cats in need.

Let's do what we do best - come together, one paw at a time, and help Central Texas to rebuild what this horrific flood took from these communities.

100% of net profits from the sale of Hill Country Strong Pup will be donated to help Hill Country Humane Society of TX as they work to heal, transport, reunite, and save pets displaced in the ongoing flooding in Hill Country, TX. (Also available from our sister-brand Kittie Kittie.) At the time of this blog post, Hill Country Strong Pup is a preorder (not yet stocked) and will ship within 7-10 Business Days (M-F) of ordering. In addition to supporting HCHS, Puppie Love is committed to donating $2,000 to Blueberry Hill Farm and Rescue in honor of Eloise Peck.

Eloise Peck (8yo), who lost her life in the devastating flood on July 4th, had started a dog walking service over the summer, with 25% of her earned proceeds going to Blueberry Hill Farm and Rescue (BHFAR), a nonprofit animal rescue service in Arkansas. She had made her first donation to BHFAR just a month before her tragic passing.

In honor of Eloise (Lulu's) beautiful life and the extraordinary love she held for animals, especially dogs, BHFAR has established a memorial fund in her name. Donations will continue Lulu's legacy by helping to provide care, love, and support to animals in need. BHFAR is also establishing a newly constructed shelter named "Lulu’s Puppy Hut." BHFAR says this building will "provide much-needed warmth, safety, and a loving place for our foster puppies to stay until we find their forever homes. We will cherish our sweet Lulu, her name, and her love of animals daily here at our rescue farm."

Puppie Love is committed to donating $2,000 to BHFAR in honor of sweet Eloise and her commitment to saving dogs. May her legacy live on forever.
